A: Sacred Vision Designs offers domain and website hosting services. We act as a retailer for hosting providers that we’ve had have great success with over the years. If you already have a domain and hosting service, we can certainly use it for your project. Should a technical issue arise, however, we will have to bill you hourly for troubleshooting. We suggest that you use our hosting service so that in the rare event that there is a problem, we can fix it at no extra cost to you.
A: We will set up your new site on a private domain address so that only you and the Sacred Visions Design team can view and edit it. When the new site is complete, we point your old domain to the new site. Once the new site has been up for a week or two, we recommend disabling your old site. We can also submit a request to Google to index and review your new site and put it up on Google.
A: We are available to make adjustments and new additions to your site any time. We have some clients that we work for monthly to add new things to their website and we have others whom we hear from once a year. We are available to work on your site whenever you need, at an hourly rate. Should you have major adjustments or projects for your site in the future, we’ll draw up an estimate of the cost for you.
A: We accept payment by check, PayPal and credit card.
A: We offer financing through PayPal credit (previously known as Bill Me Later). We also recommend the website Kabbage.com, which offers small business loans for a small fee.
A: We can use any pictures you have on your website. We also have a small library of stock photos that are available to use. You may need to purchase certain photos from a stock site. We can help you with this and suggest the stock sites that we like working with and have a great collection. Most pictures can be purchased for web use for around a few dollars per piece.
A: In order to build your site, we must receive written and proofed content from you. In case you need assistance with your website content, we can help. Our writers can proof, edit and make suggestions for you, and even interview you in such a way that they can write the content on your behalf. See our Content Suggestions page for great tips and insight on filling your website with valuable and effective content. For more information about proofing, editing and content writing services, please contact us.
A: Generally, it takes about 3-6 weeks for a new website to “go live.” This time varies depending on the pace at which you provide us with written content and feedback as the project progresses. We work quickly and thoroughly to complete new websites and the faster our clients give us content and feedback, the quicker the website is ready.
A: SEO is an ongoing process with many complex factors. Depending on the level of support for SEO that you choose, you may or may not achieve top page rankings. Generally, we see results from SEO in 3-6 months. It’s a matter of Google indexing and seeing all the SEO we’ve done over time. Search results for your page are influenced by your competitors’ pages, which depends on how much SEO they’ve done to their site. If a competitor has done an extensive amount of SEO and you’ve only done a little bit, your page most likely will not be placed above theirs in online searches. Maximizing the effectiveness of SEO is an ongoing process that involves adding new content, building up links, increasing your popularity on the web, as well as going through and optimizing various factors on your site. Your Google rankings will always fluctuate, especially in more competitive industries. It can be easier to increase your rank by focusing on a small geographic area, like your city, rather than the whole country or the world. With fewer competitors, you will likely rank higher on Google.
A: In general, the only fee after setup is for annual hosting renewal. It is also recommended, however, to update your software at least every six months. Software updates improve security and ensure that your website is up to speed with the latest technology. Depending on the complexity and size of your website, the price for updates and maintenance varies. Other than the required annual hosting fee and the optional software updates, we are here to make whatever adjustments or additions you require to your site at an hourly rate.
